#1 - Automatic Online Registrations

Farm Works introduces a new online method for software registrations. You will no longer need to call or fax requests to activate your software. X2 allows you to register online within the software program. Simply select the “Get registered immediately with the online registration service” (highlighted in the red box) and start using the software. Never worry about typing registration numbers to activate the software or trying to contact Farm Works during non-business hours.

#2 - New Interface for Field Records and Mapping

Farm Works unveils a new interface. The simplified and improved interface makes navigation easier and reduces the number of steps to complete a task. A new “Farm/Field/Job Tree” (highlighted in the image at left) is designed to reduce the number of steps necessary to find a field and associated jobs and maps.

#3 - Create Fields without a Map

In the previous versions of Farm Works, a boundary had to be created in order to record crop records. This could be done by hand-drawing fields, tracing aerial photos, importing yield data, or by importing a field boundary. Even though these features are still included in X2, field records can now be entered without a map. By using the “Farm/Field/Job Tree” feature in X2, users can simply select the farm name and choose New Field.

#4 - Mapped, Legal, and Tillable Acres

Farm Works X2 has the ability to add three types of acres to a field.

1. Mapped Acres is computed based on the boundary for the field. If the boundary is created with GPS, this will represent the GPS Acres.
2. Legal Acres is the total legally reported acres for the field
3. Tillable Acres is the total area currently being farmed

#5 - More Employee Details

Employees have more data fields in X2. Such information includes Business, Job Title, up to 6 phone numbers, e-mail, and website address.

#6 - Automated Downloading and Installation of Updates

The automated updating feature verifies you have all the recent updates for Farm Works X2 by a click of a button. As updates are released for Farm Works X2, the user will have the feature to select “Check for Updates…”. Once selected from the drop-down list, Farm Works will detect your version and download and install all available updates.

#7 - More Machine Properties

More information can be entered for each piece of equipment. Make, Model, Year, Serial #, and Console ID# will now be available.

#8 - Equipment Service Records

Service records on equipment can now be recorded. By entering meter information below, the equipment service feature will remind you of oil changes or other maintenance items that may be overlooked. All records can be printed on the “Fleet Management” report, which is also another new feature in Farm Works X2.

#9 - Smart Import Wizard

Importing yield and various maps will be much quicker and with fewer steps. No longer will you have to worry about assigning layers to the yield map. With a fewer clicks of the mouse, the import wizard will import all the data like you have never seen before.

#10 - Automatic Unit of Measure Conversion

The unit conversion between “Purchased Units” and “Distributed Units” will now be an automated process. In the prior versions of Farm Works, this number had to be converted by the user. Also, the “Default Application Rate” will allow the user to enter default rates when applying the supply to a field or when creating a variable rate application map.
