Stake Your Acres

Farming Computer Game

Stake Your Acres screen shotYou've just inherited an entire farming operation with house, barn, fields, tractors and equipment, livestock, and even cash. Do you have what it takes to actually make a profit in today's farming world? You'll have to beware of possible natural disasters such as tornados, floods and drought. Also, watch out for disease and nasty swarms of hungry insects. Stake Your Acres is based on Farm Trac and is used in schools throughout the United States because it is both fun and educational.

You're in the middle of a 200 acre corn field ...
and you don't know how you got there!

Then it starts to come back ...

Just before the tornado touched and the flying barn
smacked you in the face, your mom said you'd inherited
Aunt Addie and Uncle Jake's farm!

 And lots of money, too!

Welcome to Stake Your Acres

... a fun and challenging computer game where you are rewarded for using REAL farming practices and uncommonly good sense.

Here's the challenge.

What are you going to do about this unexpected inheritance? Tool around town on Uncle Jake's tractor for a few days? Ignore the farm and lose it? Or will you take this mighty challenge to manage Aunt Addie and Uncle Jake's farm to the best of your abilities and make an honest profit? It's all up to you.

The Game at a Glance

You'll start with a lot of money (in hard assets with land and equipment up front if you play the regular version -- or in cash if you decide to play a custom version and buy your own land and equipment at the start of the game.) You choose to play at a normal level or at an expert level (facing more disasters and farming dilemmas than beginners, like nasty floods, ugly weeds and killer bugs.)

You'll either accept a predrawn map of your farm or draw your own map using special drawing tools and then buy what you need -- equipment, structures such as barns or bins, animals, and supplies like chemicals, seed and feed. Plant your crops ... farm ... harvest ... and sell! You WIN this game if you don't go bankrupt and lose the farm!

Scores are assigned each January first and reflect net worth or equity as of that date. The top five scores are added to the Stake Your Acres All Time Champion's list.
