KS Agricultural Technology Field Day 2004
The largest Ag Technology event ever staged in the high
plains area!
Precision agriculture technologies are quickly becoming an
integral part of crop production. However as these technologies
evolve, many producers are struggling to see the potential
benefits and thus are hesitant to adopt them. K-State Research
and Extension, the Kansas Agricultural Research Association
and several prominent companies (including Martens Farms)
have come together to sponsor a field day to educate crop
producers and agribusiness of the potential benefits of agricultural
technologies and to help address some of concerns regarding
precision agriculture.
Why You Should Attend
If you are considering precision agriculture technologies
for your farm, you should attend this event. It has been designed
to be “hands-on” and very applied in nature.
- Learn from individuals who have developed, evaluated,
and used the technologies.
- Visit the special demonstration area where you can operate
many of the premier guidance systems available today.
- See featured demonstrations of auto-steered tractors and
also on-the-go sensors that are capable of measuring soil
and plant properties
- Hear presentations that will help you choose and use technology
more effectively on your own farm.
Program Topics
Three educational tents will feature programs every hour
and sponsors to share their experiences regarding precision
agriculture technology.
- Yield Variation - Can We Manage It?
- Advancements in Agrichemical Application Technologies
**
- On-the-go Sensor Technology **
- Selecting and Comparing Guidance Systems
- Making the Most from On-Farm Comparisons
- Logging Records during Field Operations
** These topics will be held in the field tent and will
be demonstration oriented.
Each topic will be offered twice throughout the day. The
open time slots allow attendees to visit with sponsors and
exhibitors. (There will be ample opportunity to interact with
speakers and industry experts.)
